Nomads Share a Strong Day as we hit 101 points.

Nomads roared back into life on a great day here in sunny Sussex as Nav and the Ones took out a huge victory against Bognor. Fas and the Threes make it five wins on the trot in Div 6.  Mal will be delighted that her team found the magic to win in Div 7.  The Two’s had to settle for a draw at EG in div 2.

Nomads Thrash Bognor.  On the North.

Adam O’Brien is having a great time with the ball this season after taking 23 Premier wickets thus far going into the top 5 on the 2026 listing.  Nomads won the toss on the North Square with Nav showing intent on a sunny day. In a powerhouse display our batting purred on all cylinders as Nick and Dan took us very near that 50 mark. New Nomad player Copelston announced himself to the club with a fine 78 batting at three.  Archie continued his stellar season with us an 80 at four.  Jonty did Jenner things smashing a six on route to a quick 45 as Nomads went to a brilliant score of 311 off the 58 allotted.

In reply Nav and Zayn kept it tight up top as Maskell and Ayres look to shore up a possible draw. However, Harry Eastman got Nomads going ripping out the top order going 4 for 23 off seven overs. Nav got into the action taking three great catches. It was Adam who was celebrating his 2nd 5 fer of the season as Bognor waved the white flag some 152 runs adrift.

30 very welcome points for our Ones.

Threes Make it Five at Rottingdean.  Dale Scores 95 n.o.  Div 6

Fas and the boys have become serious weapons in Division 6 Central now wining 5 on the spin.  Rottingdean is never an easy place to operate but we won with loads to spare as we go hunting for a promotion spot. On the ‘pringle’ Nomads found it tough to begin as Hobbs and Hobbs put on 52 for the 1st wicket. McLachlan scored a watchful 36 at three. However, William Dale got to work, and he quickly took four for 20 off six overs (just 1 wide!!!!) to turn the game upside down. Rottingdean never really recovered going to 194 for 8.

In reply Dale batted with distinction once again up top to frustrate a desperate host. His team batted well around him as Nomads chased in 31 overs just 4 down.

William is a Nomad product through and through and he has the ability to become one of our greats.

Harry Scrase talk of the Fours.  It’s a win on the South

Fours beat Keymer in Division 7 to keep survival hopes alive.  After 8 straight losses our fours looked dead and buried.  However, two wins from three has breathed new life into the campaign.  Mal will be the first to admit there is still loads to clean up after some ‘odd’ ground fielding attempts and 51 extra’s but a win is a win.  U15s Skipper Harry Scrase had a day to remember as he announced himself onto the Senior stage here at the Nomads.

Having decided to field Sowerby and Cox took out the openers as Keymer went to 63 with out. Mike Dillon top scored with 44 as they made steady progress.  Veteran Ian Jones struck three for 40. Scrase producing the champagne moment with a stunning run out.  Keymer went to 234 all out.

Sam Collyer batted beautifully up top for a quick 49 in 38 balls including a six. Huw Cahill is a very calming influence in the engine room and quietly made 35.  However, it was Harry’s day as he launched three sixes and nine boundaries in a spellbinding 65 not out.

I saw a beaming Phil Standen in Tesco this morning.  He said ‘we were over the moon with the win. There were some ill discipline in the field but Harry was sheer class and it was a great feeling to get over the line!’

Good Day for Ibrahim’s at EG in draw.   Div 2

Two’s Skipper Ollie Gatts might be disappointed tonight as his side battled to a losing draw.  It was game to be won at Saint Hill.   Barker and Ancill both opened well for EG with skipper Hansen adding 55.  The score never got away as Kash and Adam shared 5 wickets.  EG settled on 238 for 7 off the 53.

In reply Jaedyn Bartosh Short showed his class with a 60 up top as he and Adam went to 80 without. However, a familiar mid order collapse left Kash (52) and Ziggy to shore up for the draw 30 runs adrift.

That’s a real hike and long afternoon out in the sun for just 11 points.

Huge congratulation on a brilliant day Nomads. If we can maintain over 100 points for the coming 6 weeks, then it’s going to be a very strong finish to the 2026 business end.  From me our Fours are going to have to get sharper in the field and sort out that extra’s column. The Two’s engine room need to start firing very soon.  We need nearly 300 to win games at that level.

Let’s Go Nomads!
