Three’s rescue Week 11 as they go four for four. But its just 72 Points from 120. 18/07/26
Week Ten’s 108 point momentum building vibe around the SCMG couldn’t be maintained yesterday as we lost two and shared a draw with Bridges on the North Square. However, it was all smiles on the South as Faisal and his crew took out a wonderful win and revenge over old foes Plumpton. He said later, ‘that’s a thumping!’
Threes just 30 points off Div 6 Promotion Race with 7 to play.
Sameer Hameed is creeping into player of the season territory with yet another top performance as our opener. He is hitting an average of 36 and scored our 1st league ton. He (58) and Dishanth (22) went on that all important 50 without loss as Nomads pressed all afternoon long. Angus Yule spanked a six on route to 44 as the skipper himself made 25 in the engine room. Abbad Khan seems to have it all yesterday demonstrating batting skills with a quick 18. Will Hutch enjoyed a cameo icing the inns with a very quick 19 as we rested on 252 off the 40.
Meanwhile Plumpton were 52 for 2 and off the pace. A fine half century from Ashworth giving them hope. However, it was our day as Abbad and Will ripped out the middle order. Sam Musto produced the MOM performance completing an impressive 3s display with 4 for 23. Nomads winning by 53 runs.
Our Three’s have now gone four wins on the bounce and seem to have gotten away from the turmoil of one wicket tussles. That series of close encounters has perhaps given them inner strength and confidence as they start to produce Rolls Royce performances.
It will all be put to the test once more as they head to the difficult arena of Rottingdean on Saturday. But it’s a certainty that Faisal will now only have eyes on 2026 promotion. Its all there for him and his team.
Matt Boyle Puts Ones on Back Foot in Bridges Draw. Sussex Prem
Kiwi born (Christchurch) Boyle rubberstamped a hugely promising career with perhaps the most destructive 2026 batting display at Fulking. He struck 17 boundary’s and one six as he put Nomads to the sword with 95 off just 56 balls. James Russell also batted well as Bridges went to 112 with out loss. Nick Greenwood managed to stem the flow of run bowling 16 overs one for 69. AOB made late gains with four wickets. Bridges out for just 88 the previous week had brushed that aside with 290 for 8 off the full 58.
Nomad batting never quite rose to the heights of Horsham last week which was disappointing. We were never really in with a shout as the skipper (46 n.o.) and AOB held on for a losing draw 8 down some 70 runs behind after 52 overs. Bridges 19 points Nomads 12.
The Sussex Premier league is shaping up well as leaders Roffey were skittled for just 80 runs at Clair Park. Middleton continue to be the main threat after a derby win over Bognor. Just 4 points separate the teams. Bridges are in the mix just 23 points away. Unfortunately, while we hold 4th in the table failure to win any of the previous five declaration games has seen our chances fade away 77 points off the pace. In reality, we are in win every game scenario and prey!
Next weekend is huge for Nav and the boys as we host Bognor on the Saturday (they will be looking to complete the double) before hosting Bridges at 11.30am (Sunday) in the Sussex T20 Cup quarter final. Let’s go Ones!
Two’s Lose at Brighton as Table throws curveball. Div 2
Our Twos produced a wonderful win in week 10 and travelled south in good spirits. Thanks to Zuni for scoring. They had a very good team lined for the baked surface of Nevill. Full of experienced campaigners and a sprinkling of our very best young talent. It all looked very good especially as OG won the toss and decided to have a bat on a beautiful sunny day.
Adam Ibs is having a very good season scoring at an average of 30 and once again showed quality with 44 up top. He will have been annoyed not to go on though to that big one. Ollie played the captains knock scoring 42 off 76 balls. However, the middle and late order failed as we lost 5 for just 22 runs. 168 all out looked vulnerable.
Stuart Faith took three wickets but in truth Liam O (49) and Jack Chopping (46) won it for them in pretty quick time. The game done and dusted in just 28 overs.
While this game was billed as a ‘free hit’ for our two’s a quick peek at the table this morning may stun us all. Bolney and Worthing both won as we fall to 3rd bottom and that dodgy relegation play off in Mid September. That’s something we want to avoid at all cost’s so need to roll sleeves and go win at Saint Hill EG.
That’s it from week 11, apart from the Three’s not our finest. However, week 12 represents a huge chance to get things going again the highlight being that T20 Cup match on Sunday morning. Have a great week in ‘nets’ and good luck to all.
