U13s Progress In ECB Cup!
Wild weather continued in our patch this evening and I for one are sick of talking about rain delays. Both our U12s and U15s fell foul of the torrid conditions. Hopefully tonight will mark the end of bad weather for the current season. We all deserve some dry and dare I say it warm conditions.
That all said everyone at the SCMG this evening was treated to something very stunning indeed. An amazing full rainbow that stretched from the Dyke to the North East of the South Square. It was a WOW moment that can be seen on our Twitter and Whattsapps sites.
Our U13s were in ECB Cup action against Ansty on the South Square. For a while both teams had to huddle in the club house but the rain did cease to allow a start. Ansty batted and did really well to get to 97 for 9 off 20 overs. Nomads fielded very well and managed to secure lots of wickets.
Very quick turnaround.
Nomads got out the block very quickly to try and get ahead of further pending weather. At 41 for 1 rain came down again as players ran for the clubhouse. It was during this break said rainbow appeared.
This time there was a crook of gold at the end of this one as Nomads came back out to quickly nail the reduced target.
Tom H, U13s Manager spoke to waiting media after the game, an interview that came be found on twitter and whattsapp. Quite rightly he thanked our ground staff for their work to enable this game to be played. We also thank Zuni for scoring out there in the weather.
Our U13s can now look forward to the next round of this important National Cup. We shall try to bring you news of that one later in the season.
