Let’s round up the last League action for 2022.
Faisal’s Threes got our massive weekend off to a flyer with a commanding win at Dormansland in Sussex League Div 7. George Close-Brooks (129) and Michael English (74) scored an amazing 186 opening partnership to take the game and the points.
Huge congrats to our Third team who win Promotion to Division Six for 2023!
Evening everyone writes Faisal
What a game and what a win today guys. With a must win game we dominated from the word go and proved why we are the best team in the league. The intensity in the field, the fireworks we produced while batting, the energy and the most of all will to win the match was of very very high standards,.stars of the show today GCB with a fantastic ton, Micheal English with a classy 74 ( both the openers put up a superb 188 opening partnership, our ever dependable and my fav no Luke Appleton with a 40 of 26 balls striking at 153+, then to finish off Jiyah and felix ventor with some quality fireworks ??.
Come the second part of the game the standards were raised as run out accrued thanks to a direct hit from Ombaashi One end was taken from Oscar Sheffield PNCC who ripped through the opposition with his fierce spell of 7 overs with 4 wickets giving away only 21 runs. ( not to forget a screamer catch from Adam Rowland? )
Muadh Khan my self and felix ventor also picked up a wicket each from the other end. Then right after Oscars spell when the opposition thought they can relax a bit, came the pace machine Ombaashi who bowled with absolute pace and fire and wrapped up with 2 wickets and only giving away 2 runs
WHAT A TEAM, WHAT A PERFORMANCE.
ABSOLUTE PROS
BIG AND STRONG NOMADS
Ones Finish Sussex League Prem on a High. SCMG
Navin Patel would have been stoked to finish the Sussex league on a high after an excellent win against Bognor at home yesterday. It perfectly followed up their win at Brighton last week.
Ryan Maskell threatened to spoil the party with a determined century up top. However only Josh Seward on 32 went with him as Bognor had to settle on 207 for 7. Our skipper the pick of the bowlers one for 32 off 10. Our top order fired nicely with Nathan 33, Hd 57 and Aaron 29 taking the score to 141 for 4. However, a batting collapse had Biz and OAB calmly having to see us over the line 9 down.
Our Ones might not have threatened to regain their Sussex Prem title this season but its a good Mid table finish and we can safely go again in 2023.
4s lose at home. Bolney Div 8
Our fours lose their final match of the season to confirm relegation to Division 9. Bolney scored 205 while we were 122 all out.
Nite of Celebration at the SCMG 3rd Sept 2022
Reports from your Bar Manager Phil it seems that a great time was had by all last nite. He says ‘ we celebrated all the way through to mid night and the bar takings were excellent’ He revealed ‘ our new Women’s team know how to party and keep the bar staff busy all night! But I am glad to report all players playing today were very restrained in what they consumed (Bowman said I wouldn’t expect anything less!!!)
Well, that’s the 2022 League season done and dusted. Its gone around in a flash !
