Poor Batting Results in 3 Early T20 Cup Exits.
It was the exciting vibe of 1st round Sussex Cup/Plate T20 clashes all over our County yesterday. Wall to wall sunshine gave way to something a little damper and chillier as our 1sts 2nds and 4ths were all in action at the Nevill, The Manor Worthing and at the SCMG.
Unfortunately over all three venues Nomads weren’t able to build any sort of momentum with the bat which lead to three disappointing losses. Indeed Tom Hutchinson, for the 4ths, was our top batsman with just 18 runs. The 1sts scored 91 for 8, 2s 93 for 7 and the 4ths 88 all out.
In the field things were a lot better with Yo taking two wickets for the 2s, Ziggy 3 for 15 for the 4ths and most eye catching Danny Ibrahim taking 5 for 11 in a very powerful spell of fast bowling.
In other News our 3rd team took on Felbridge away in their final friendly match. The hosts scored 287 off the allotted. In reply our 3rd team came up short however Louis V did score a nice half century.
Whilst it was a very disheartening start to the 2021 competitive season, especially for a club who prides itself on T20 cricket we shouldn’t let it derail our opening league matches on 8th May. We have an aching amount of talent around the SCMG so lets recharge during the week and come out all guns blazing on Saturday. There is a lot to look forward to.
