Nomads Roar with Three Win’s in Week 10. 12/7/26
Club Captain Nav Patel said last evening ‘I am very proud of the club; it’s been a good day for the Nomads!’
4s Take Break Out 2026 Win at Home. Div 7.
It’s fitting that as we started with the weekend preview with our wonderful 4s we should give them front line news after a brilliant home win that has rubberstamped their obvious pedigree at level 7. It’s been clear for weeks that Mal has a talented and robust squad. A team who has been playing well but for some reason not been able to get over the line. That all changed yesterday when Felbridge felt hints of Nomads swagger as we won by 7 wickets. After taking the field young Ted Hutchinson produced his very finest taking 5 for 34. You are always in with a short when Nomads legend Ian Jones is in your side. He destroyed the engine room in quick order with 3 for 28 including a stunning caught and bowled. Chasing 187 wasn’t a problem as Luke S (37) and Walid (47) took Nomads to 62 with out loss. Huw (31 n.o.) and Phil S (26 n.o.) stroked the ball around the South Square as Nomads chased in 27th overs.
The 30 points gained has now given our 4s a real lifeline and although they are still propping up Div 7 the numbers are looking much more encouraging. I bet the squad can’t wait for Saturday and their trip to Portslade. Rinse and repeat please as that is potentially going to be the Match of the Day!
Mal takes up the story.
Ted was a hero today! 5 wickets!
Taylor bowled awesome too. Jonah’s a goat and got 3 wickets. Waleed batted awesome (was given out LBW but he hit it sadly) and got us off to a flyer with Luke S Huw and bubble did great. Everyone fielded awesome. Honestly, I’m buzzing. I bowled terribly but have never been happier 😂. Matt R dislocated his finger so you could write condolences to his pinky finger 🤣
Huge Lift for the Twos in Div 2 On the North.
Our two’s shrugged off a disastrous start against Bolney to pull off an amazing double over the Mid Sussex big spenders. They would have travelled in quite high spirits but would have set off back down Clappers with tails between their legs. This might turn out to be one of the best wins of the season.
Ollie G choose to bat but it all went wrong as Bolney took three wickets with just 11 runs on the board. However, Ollie Hewitt (45), our U15s sensation and fans favourite Aaron Phillips (34) carefully restored earlier damage. The score going to 77 for 4. Our twos engine room Faith (22) Jamie Patrick (33 no) and perhaps Player of the Match Felix (58 not out) took the scorebook by the scruff with Ziggy adding shine scoring a quick 23. 231 for 8 felt good at tea.
Nomads’ legend Yosef is a proper old school bowler, and he bamboozled the Bolney top order taking three for 36. Young Jake has a massive future in the game if he chooses but for now, we are proud to have him here as a Nomad. He anchored the field bowling an amazing 17 overs in the furnace. His three wickets at a rate of 4 put them on a sticky wicket. Not for the 1st time this season Stuart faith became the hero catching the dangerous Jagota for 58 and then took three wickets for just 24 runs. Two’s getting home by 15 runs. Huge congrats to all.
The task of staying away from that dreaded 8th place and a dodgy mid september relegation battle is far from done. But yesterday’s 30 points means they can go to table toppers Benson’s on Saturday and play it with freedom as there is nothing to lose. It’s a free hit!
Three’s Crazy Season is Going in Right Direction. Three on the spin at Nevill Sports. Div 6
The roller coaster that is Nomad Threes finally had an occasion of complete clarity as Faisal’s team were in complete control on enemy soil. And it wasn’t any surprise to him as he had predicted big win in his presa a week ago. He showed intent by batting first. Before reading his report a quick one from me. William Dale he has it all !
9 letters 3 words ( WHAT A TEAM)
Every game someone steps up and show cases their talent We posted 250 for the hosts to chase thanks to 2 brilliant knocks from William Dale ( BONGO) (62) and Angus Yule (79).
Along with good contributions from Sameer, Abbad, and the tail wagging from Zidane and Will Hutch Just shows how deep we bat as a team and strength of our batting. With 250 on the board we were quite confident in defending the target giving our gun bowling line up and saying that I think this season that’s been our strength too. Their top order tried to go after our attack and looked for boundaries, but our bowlers stuck to the plans and a good plan always pays off, Zidane removed their aggressive opener with a sight to see as the wickets went cartwheeling. Their captain tried to carry on the aggressive approach and at one point they were 79 of 9 overs buts that’s when the breaks hit, abbad from one end and bongo from the other slowed things right down to only allowed them to score only 24 runs in the next 9 overs with both the pair taking 3 wickets each, will hutch and Hameish also showed class in their bowling and took a wicket a piece and of course Zidane came back to take the final wicket with the wickets cartwheeling again Best things about the defence was the way we went about the business, the team act as one unit, they all gel together and most of all the energy we produce is unbelievable Super proud of the lads and super excited of the sort of performance we will put in in the coming matches.
I have 2 MOTM players Bongo and Angus Bongo with a brilliant knock and also 3 wickets And Angus with a crucial 79 when the team was 69 for 4 when he went in
Hey guys I bet there was lots of celebration and you will be fully aware that we take pride in beating ‘them’ ‘there’. It’s a huge 30 points and now takes you into a full promotion push. Keep doing it!
In summing up the day I hope that everyone takes on Nav’s sentiments and that we are all proud of the day’s achievements. Let’s take that winning feeling into the 2026 mid season engine room and beyond. When all pull in the same direction us Nomads are a force of nature.
Let’s go do it all again on Saturday.
