Let’s Get it Done! Clean sweep on 24th July 2021.

Good evening Nomads and welcome to Leigh in Lancashire. I am taking in the Sussex CCC vibe at Sedbergh tomorrow and hope to see Danny I in Royal London action.

Nomads have been showing some excellent form over the past few weeks and it is time that we come together to secure that clean sweep. I know it’s something this great club badly wants in 2021.

Let’s get into it. 4 games in preview.

1st team travel to Middleton in Sussex Prem. 11.30 110 overs.

Dan Phillips leads his squad to Middleton on a mission to recapture the bragging rights. We beat them in the ECB Cup in early May but they came straight back to the SCMG the next week and won.

Middleton shrugged off two very poor results against Eg and Three Bridges to beat Hastings last Saturday. Harry Hovey 82 and M Rawat 92 did the damage in East Sussex.

While Middleton will be in good heart after that win our boys are currently in complete and total charge of all aspects of their game.

I take Nomads to strengthen their grip on the Sussex Prem.

2s entertain Burgess Hill SCMG Div 2 12.30 100 overs

Our 2s have been playing well of late with out getting the points they deserve. It’s time for the boys to put some day light to their Div 2 survival.

Burgess Hill have been on a damaging run of poor results including losses against St James and Horsham plus a recent draw against Billingshurst. However on 10th July they beat Div 2 surprise package Bognor away. Jas Bassan took 6 wickets that day.

I am backing our 2s to get on top on home soil.

David and 3s face tricky trip to Edenbridge. Sussex div 6 40 overs each 1pm

Our third team are on the cusp of turning their season around. The squad travel to inform Edenbridge who have 7 wins to their name. In late June early July they swept aside Dormansland and Rottingdean. However they got thrashed by Burgess Hill 2s last week. Edenbridge bowled out for 92.

Thirds to travel well!

4th look after winless Plumpton div 8 1pm 40 overs each. South Square

Our 4th team under the guidance of skipper Stephen O have a great chance to get their season rocking with another win

Plumpton have lost 7 games and are routed to the foot of the table. Batting has been a real problem for Plumpton. Last Saturday they were skittled for just 80 and on the 3rd July 72.

Fill your boots 4s !

Well there u have it. Four excellent chances to gain our 1st 2021 Clean Sweep. I won’t be around this Saturday due to a family thing. Please keep us updated from around the grounds and send me match reports early next week.

Let’s Go Nomads!
