Nomads to sign of 2021 in a Blaze of Glory

We preview 4th September

Lets End the 2021 League Season with a Bang!

It’s OFFICIAL! Last day of the 2021 term is upon us here at the Nomads so hopefully all our 4 senior teams can go out and have some fun and perhaps pick up that elusive clean sweep.

Sussex Premier Champions at Home v Cuckfield CC 11.30am start 50 overs each.

Its with certainty skipper Dan Phillips will want to sign off a brilliant season with a commanding win at home to Cuckfield. There will be no sense of slacking off, not until till the party later!.

Its an entirely different proposition for the visitors who find themselves tittering on the brink of relegation with just 3 wins on the board all season. Its seems as though the ‘wheels have fallen off’ over the past three weekends where they have lost to EG, Middleton and most important Hastings. Ollie Graham 644 runs and Nipun 545 runs have played well this season. Nick Paterson and Josh Hayward share 52 wickets between them. To be honest it’s difficult to fathom out why the club are in this position but as they say the table never lies.

I fear for Cuckfield !!!

Two’s Travel to Chi with faint hopes! Goodwood 12.30 Sussex Div 2 45 overs each

I have loved the way skipper James M has gone about a hugely difficult assignment this season. He has managed his squad well to take 4 victories. It all means that we can travel to Chi on the last day with very small ray of hope of doing the improbable. And that’s staying in the divison.

There is no beating around the bush we need to get the maximum 30 points and then prey that both Lindfield and Billingshurst both get battered.

I am sure that all club connections send James and his team all the best for Saturday and lets just see what transpires. If things do not work out well, James can hold his head up high.

Threes Host Lindfield on South Square 1pm start Sussex Div 6 40 overs each.

It hasn’t been the season that skipper David Symes and his third team were lining up in April 2021. 13 losses has taken its toll leaving us resigned to dropping to Division 7 next term.

However there is club pride at stake and a will to win so hopefully the team can put everything aside on Saturday and come up with something special to celebrate.

To all our Third Teamer’s we send a huge message of good luck.

Stephen Oliver and Co can spoil a Felbridge Party Sussex Div 8 1pm 40 overs a side.

Felbridge have been superb this season taking 13 wins and 421 points. They just need a win to confirm the Championship at home against our 4th team.

However you wouldn’t put it past our 4s to throw out an away banana skin on Saturday. Our squad, under the expert guidance of Oliver have been a real breath of fresh air winning no less than 7 matches. You can tell from his excellent match reports the boys have had some close games and it seems team spirit and some ‘techers’ have got them through.

Its that wonderful mix of youth and experience.

Well there you have it. 4 exciting games to come on the last day of term.

LETS GO AND WIN THEM ALL SHALL WE !!!
