Kash Masterclass (120) can’t save the 4’s writes Andy Slip Catch Extraordinaire Garth SCMG 9th July Div 8.
A boiling hot day with a hard dusty strip at the SCMG was the scene for a bottom of the table clash with Coleman’s Hatch.
A mixed age range team from 13 to 61 were as usually cajoled together by Captain Oliver, not sure how many he would end up with, but a slightly injured Kash was persuaded to join in for the fun.
We batted first with Kash and Watto paving the way for a decent total.
At 107-1 off 20 with Kash enjoying himself all looked good.
Julian, Prem, Tate came and went as supporting roles to Kash, then Captain O helped push on.
100 for Kash after 31 overs and eventually bowled for 120 at over 38, great entertainment from an injured older statesman!!!
We finished on 216 for 6 and a marvellous tea was taken.
Now catches win matches and this was the story of our time on the field, also the fact that Coleman’s Hatch had some proper big hitters with them!
Luca bowled very well with 2 well deserved wickets ( on a personal note see slip catch from me caught on film by Luca’s Dad as shown exclusively on the Nomads WhatsApp!)
Then the big guns came in and basically biffed their way to victory.
We dropped 5 catching chances. When 13 year old Jack got hit all around the ground I would like to praise his attitude.
We lost in the 30th over and would like to ask that Captain Stephen is given more support in raising a side and please make yourself available if you can.
We are supporting the division(literally) and as a club we understand the top teams come first but please help.
Anyway that’s my rant over and look to a positive result next week
