Excellent U11 Girls Cricket at Patcham Place.

Our U11 Girls team continued their Newbery Pairs South Softball campaign at St Peters Patcham Place this evening. It was great fun for both teams with compelling and skillful cricket for the fans to enjoy.

St Peters batted first and despite some good bowling (a reduced amount of wides from the last match) and some excellent ground fielding they managed to score 303. (remember the score starts on 200) Perhaps most of the damage came through the third pair. One batter managed hook a great shot for six runs. The Nomads team manager was very pleased with his teams effort in the field.

In reply Nomads batsman continued to eat into the run chase. There was a time when the visitors looked to be getting very competitive with back to back driven boundaries. However the effort stalled when the same St Peters fielder produced two stunning catches in the in field. The hosts went on to pick up a narrow win.

At this stage of their cricket career it should all be about having a lot of fun, team spirit and picking up basic cricket skills. The highlight of the game, a brilliant Nomad off stump delivery, St Peters cover drive, Nomads pick up on the boundary and quick throw in.

The Girls are going in the right direction!
