Your favourite heroes in their own words...
Chris Bidwell
Date of birth: 27.6.1944
Bowler / batter: Batter and sometimes Bowler
Favourite ground: Lords - I?d love to have played there.
Most embarrassing moment in cricket: Turning up 30 minutes late for the over 50?s County Semi-Final against Wales a few years ago when I should have been opening the batting.
One game for Sussex in the first year of the Sunday League. Captain Preston Nomads and Captain Sussex League Representative Team.
Honours received: Probably 147 not out v Brighton & Hove in about 1980, after being fairly plum lbw first ball of the innings, but given not out.
Best bowling / batting performance: 7 for about 30 v Brighton & Hove in the League in 1972 and 7 for about 35 v Bexhill in about 1988.
Best (amateur cricketer) you have played against: Probably Simon Dyson who bowled fast leg spins in the Surrey League, then for Cheshire.
Favourite player: Peter May. I was lucky enough to play on the same side as him for the Charterhouse Friars 3 or 4 times.
Why did you start playing cricket: My Grandpa taught me in the back garden when I was very young.
What would be the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery: My retirement.
What's your greatest fear: Heights
Best way to improve Fulking: Enlarging the south ground, but sadly this is evidently not possible.
What's your greatest luxury in life: Educating three boys
Do you have any hidden talents: If I have any, they are so well hidden I don?t know about them.
What's your greatest ambition: It?s a bit late for ambitions now, but it will have to be to play golf well after I retire from cricket.
Who makes you laugh: Basil Fawlty
Best cricketer you have ever watched: Gary Sobers. He was brilliant at everything, batting, fast bowling, slow bowling and fielding.
Do you walk: Not for lbw?s
