Preston Nomads Cricket Club was a founder member of the Sussex Cricket League in 1971, the 1st XI winning the Championship in the League's inaugural year, again in 1982, 1988, 2006, 2008 and most recently retaining the title in 2009. In recent years they have also won The Sussex Cup final in 2004 and were winners of the 20:20 Cup in 2008 and 2009.
The 2nd XI were champions of its League in 1977, 1997 and 2005 and won the Sussex League Cup in 2007.
The Club 3rd XI won the Sussex League title in 1981 and 1986, prior to the disbandment of that Division. The 3rd XI now play in the HJ Stoner Mid Sussex League Division 1 and were Champions in 1997 and 2005.
Our 4th XI were founded in 2005 and won the Sally Miller Trophy in their first year. They play in the HJ Stoner Mid Sussex League Division 2.
Nomads have a vibrant colts section and have run a girls' section and commenced operation of a fully fledged women's side in 2009. [read more...]

What's New
From 17th to 19th August we have the 2nd Annual Nomads (Mini) Cricket Week. The visitors are - Tuesday - Old Brightonians (11.30 am start), Wednesday - M.C.C (11.30 am start), Thursday - Brighton Nomads (2pm start). There will be refreshments for the players and officials, and the bar will be open. Additional food can be made available on request - so just let Jan know if you will be coming along. |
