Colts Sample the County Ground!
Nomad Colts caught some glorious spring sunshine during their big coaching evening at the County Ground (19th April). Around 100 players, coaches and large contingent of parents congregated from 6pm onwards. Manager Andy Garth said 'this is the 2nd season we have used the County Ground for this event, it's a real treat for our youngsters to use these wonderful facilities and then there is the grand quiz later in the evening'
Splitting into age groups each team peeled away to their own space on the hallowed outfield while some used the indoor nets. David Thompson (Thomo) said to the U13s 'we are looking to secure promotion for both our teams this season and it all starts right here tonight, we are very lucky to have the use of these facilities so lets make the most of our opportunity !' Coach Matt Parsons was having fun with the u10s with his 6 side of the bat routine and tennis ball. All the boys were were doing their best to complete the task with some doing 4. Around a dozen of the ladies section were involved with the fielding practise.
Parents were watching all the action from the sun bathed veranda of Boundary Rooms. Rachel, James Wilson Pestell's (12) mum said 'James started at Preston Nomads last season and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, its the best club around for miles and he is really looking forward to the first match of the season !'

The evening turned into a huge success, Honorary vice-president David Bowden said 'the juniors really seemed to enjoy the occasion and didn't really want to come off the field at the end, it was a lovely evening for the club when lots of people took part in the quiz'
Outdoor Colts Coaching sessions will continue on Friday's at Fulking.
