Nomads girls earn a well deserved win against Eastbourne.
The Preston Nomads Girls’ Team travelled to Eastbourne on Sunday 15th May for their first match of the season in the 8-a-side under 15 girls hard ball league.  Despite being a player short due to illness, and another of the girls playing in some pain with a broken toe, the team performed very well to win by 2 wickets, with 3 overs to spare ( see scoreboard below).  The girls played with confidence and style although for most it was their first match ever with a hard ball.  The benefit of winter nets was evident in the straight, accurate bowling (thank you Andy Garth), while the influence of the outdoor coaching could be seen in some hard-hitting batting and alert fielding (thank you Ciara Green and Georgia Adams). There was also a great team spirit with the girls encouraging one another and everyone playing their part in the well-deserved victory.
