Dear Nomad,
Tragically the indoor team got knocked out of the National Indoor Cricket competition at the mere group stage of the Sussex Finals. A true shame, but alas, it happens. As a result we will not be seeing each other so much, in an effort to mitigate this we shall be partaking in a day's paintball on Sunday 28th March.
This is open to all involved with Nomads (players, committee members, vice presidents, tea personnel and partners) and will be a good chance to meet members of the club from a range of teams and for team-mates to bond further, ahead of the start of the season in April. And most importantly, it should be a bit of a laugh.
The venue is quite close to our ground, south of the A281 half way between Clappers Lane and the Ginger Fox (formerly Shave's Thatch). It is in the woods beyond the field you may know as the place that holds car boot sales on Sunday's.
Paintball is not a cheap activity, the half day will cost £25.50 each. For this you are provided with 300 paintballs and hire of the protective equipment. We found last time, in 2007, that 300 paintballs isn't enough. They then charge £7 for each further 100.
Please let me know if you are interested by dropping me an email to james.mckemey@gmail.com. I may need to then collect money in advance, I will let you know as the time approaches.
One piece of advice is for the lads to wear a box. As hilarious as the bruise that Tim Downey inflicted on me in 2007 was, it was an experience I could probably have lived without.
We hope to see you there!
